Texas School Safety Certification and Active Shooter Response Training

Texas School Safety Certification Course

Texas HB3 requires school districts to maintain armed security standards and improve campus preparedness. Proper training, preparation, and coordinated response planning are critical components of school safety and emergency readiness.

This Texas Department of Public Safety course is designed for school administration, employees, and teachers. The course provides active shooter response training and meets the requirements for qualifying approved employees to carry on school property when authorized by school administration.

The goal of this training is to improve campus preparedness and help protect students, staff, and visitors during critical incidents.

This training is valuable for both armed and unarmed school staff. Many of the subjects covered apply to all school employees regardless of whether they choose to carry a firearm.

This course meets the requirements set forth by HB3, which went into effect in September 2023.
